Tomorrow, 13rd  September 2008, is the opening day of the new bike sharing system in Novi Ligure. The bike sharing is part of the project Bicincittà.
There are 7 bike stations, located throughout the city. An electric id card allows the Bicincittà member to take a bicycle from any cycle-park station in the city and return it to any free parking space.

Bicincittà is a bike sharing network where the bicycle becomes a shared means of transport.
Bicincittà also represents intermodality: offering this service in exchange-points such as railway station parking lots and bus terminals allows citizens to move into the city center without automobiles, finding a bicycle positioned exactly where one is needed

Bicincittà can be used for work, for tourism, for shopping, or whenever you want!
It is above all an alternative means of transport that – especially in short distances – has proven to be quicker and more efficient, an instrument to promote the sustainable mobility.

Who can use the service
Everybody can ride a bicycle: a transportation method that offers a serious alternative to the car: perfect for short trips to the town centre while being fun and healthy at the same time and without parking problems.

 

Registration Procedures:
Presenting a valid Identification Card, and signing all administrative forms, you will be given an electronic ID card and a personal padlock, which allow you to use the service.
A 30€ deposit is required (which will be returned if you decide not to use the system anymore), it includes 5€ of recharge on the card.
All conditions and regulations on the bike sharing use are indicated on the contract.


Service Cost:
The first hour of bicycle use is free.
At the end of the first hour, the computer automatically debits the ID card according to the following rate:
-    0.50€ for the second hour
-    1€ for each successive hour
