Starting from June 5th 2008 Brescia has joined the bike sharing community: the service is called “Bicimia” and is available in the inner city where you can find 24 bike stations with more than 200 bikes for the citizens’ short trips.
An electronic card allows you to take and return the bike to the preferred bike station.
Furthermore the “ Bicimia” card has a magnetic strip on its back which allows you to pay in any of the parking lots managed by Brescia Mobilità and Sintesi in the city of Brescia.
This service is extremely innovative because it fully matches the intermodality transportation philosophy.
